Industry Pro Comments From Pool Duck:
"The states with the highest $/account aren't the ones with the most pools, they're the ones with tightest routing density and the most operators willing to publish rate cards."
Florida and California dominate sales volume, but per-account valuations cluster wherever operators have professionalized pricing. Routes in markets with shared rate cards and standardized service tiers consistently sell at higher multiples - a pattern visible whether you franchise or stay independent.

Methodology
Aggregates are computed from a dataset of completed pool route sales, each with a verified account count, gross annual revenue, and final sale price. We report medians (not means) so a single oversized route can't skew a state.
States with only a handful of recorded sales will move more as the dataset grows; the sample size is shown in every hover and table row. States with no recorded sales yet appear grey. We never publish individual sale data here, the smallest reported unit is a state median.
"Multiple" = sale price ÷ monthly revenue (monthly revenue = gross annual revenue ÷ 12, the months-of-revenue convention common in route sales). "$/account" = sale price ÷ accounts serviced.
Pool Route Marketplace operates independently of any franchise system. Franchise commentary is editorial.
